DUALFIX i-SIZE is a truly flexible option for your child – from birth to around 4 years old (105cm). Thanks to the 360-degree rotation on the integrated ISOFIX base, the seat can be used rear- and forward-facing. Plus, if you turn the seat 90 degrees to the open car door, positioning and harnessing your child is a breeze!

Especially designed to give additional comfort and support for small babies, the included newborn insert with energy-absorbing foam pads reduces the space and allows your littlest passenger to lie flatter in a comfortable, ergonomic position. The DUALFIX i-SIZE also offers 12 recline positions – rearward and forward-facing – and an adjustable rebound bar for ultimate comfort up to 4 years.

As we would expect from a brand with the history, track record and reputation of Britax Rӧmer, the DUALFIX i-SIZE has been equipped with a large number of innovative safety features. There’s the optimised side impact protection SICT inside, implemented by a special steel element in the seat. And the patented Pivot Link ISOFIX System, which – should the worst happen and you suffer a collision – directs the force of the impact first downward, into the vehicle seat, and then forward, more gently – greatly reducing the risk of head and neck injury for your child.

Rearward facing car seats offer the best protection in the event of a frontal collision – the most frequent type of accident on the roads. In a frontal collision with a rearward facing seat the crash forces are directed to the back of the seat, while the remaining energy is spread evenly across the head, neck and upper body. With a forward facing seat the energy of the impact is distributed differently across the seat structure and restraint system – potentially resulting in more energy impacting on the child’s body. The DUALFIX i-SIZE allows your child to travel rear-facing right up to 105cm or around 4 years old.

The current safety guidelines advise that newborn babies are not left in their car seat for longer than 30 minutes. For babies 2-6 months, no longer than 2 hours. It is also safer to keep your child rear-facing for as long as possible – a minimum of 15 months but ideally 4 years. A child should never be in their harnessed car seat with a thick winter coat or snowsuit on.
