Elodie Details Stockholm 3.0 Stroller Review

Perhaps given the simple to operate fold and included travel bag, it is fair to see it more as a stylish travel stroller for your holiday adventures or mini globetrotter than wheels for daily use. 

Things we love…

Well let's start with the obvious! The fabric patterns available on this stroller are just beautiful. Boy, girl or unisex, there really is something for everyone. The deeply patterned Midnight Bells fabric we've been using was a real head-turner and had a William Morris-esque feel to it; flamboyant but classy, we would say! Even the plainer fabric choices of Golden Grey and Faded Rose are eye-catching, there is just something simply striking about the look of these pushchairs.

We all know appearance isn't everything so we've used the Elodie Details Stockholm Stroller whilst out shopping, in the car, on the bus and on walks around the park to test out its genuine day-to-day 'usability'. The large seat was our favourite feature - it's tall and wide and babies of all sizes travel comfortably in it. The adjustable leg rest was brilliant and even toddlers could make use of it whilst napping.  The handlebars aren't adjustable but at around 120cm high they gave a great pushing height. They are also covered in leatherette, giving a lovely feel to them too.

The brake pedals on each wheel meant we could flick the brake on using either foot, which was handy. Folding the stroller was easy with a pull-up handle and foot pedal, and then an auto-lock lever to keep the package together for lifting and carrying.

The large sun hood was just brilliant. The extendable zip-open panel gave so much coverage and the magnet-closing pocket on the back of the stroller is brilliant for holding keys and phones.

There are so many tempting accessories available to match the Stockholm Stroller too - liners, the cosiest-looking footmuffs, changing bags and raincovers (and these are no ordinary raincovers) to name a few. You can really go to town on accessorising your pushchair to suit you personally.

Things to look out for…

For £310 we would expect a little more luxury in the finer details. The harness (as easy to use as it was), for example, is exactly the same as you would find on a similar but much lower priced stroller. The typical British weather swayed from sun to storms in a matter of minutes while we were out and about, and we were caught short on several occasions by the fact there was no included raincover. Although we must admit the Elodie Details raincovers, available to buy on the brand's website, are absolutely stunning, we would expect at least a basic free raincover to come in the box for the price of the stroller.

We were also frustrated with the basket. When baby was lying down and the seat reclined, there was no access to our belongings in there - not ideal when you need to grab your purse and baby is asleep! We also felt that the wheels could have been made of slightly tougher materials. They wore quite quickly in our few weeks. A thicker tyre and better quality, less plasticky material would have provided a much better push.

Our verdict...

An undoubtedly pretty stroller to look at, the Elodie Details Stockholm Stroller 3.0 edition has a great-sized seat and hood to suit babies from 6 months right up until they no longer need a pushchair. The adjustable calf rest means that your passenger is comfortable whether sleeping or playing in the seat and the handle height gives a great push too.

The lack of access to the basket when baby is sleeping may be frustrating at times but the lack of raincover is even more infuriating, especially in Britain, where getting caught in a rain shower is almost guaranteed. Perhaps given the simple to operate fold and included travel bag, it is fair to see it more as a stylish travel stroller for your holiday adventures or mini globetrotter than wheels for daily use. Ultimately, the Elodie Details Stockholm 3.0 is a great little stroller and a real eye-catcher but for £310 you might expect a little more luxury - and a raincover.
