Chassis

The Pace is a new to market stroller from iCoo - a company who aim to create luxury pushchairs for parents who want to look the part as well as provide everything baby needs and more.

Sliding the Pace out of its box, we knew it would be easy to use from the very start. It came almost complete and we only needed to clip on the front wheels (easy peasy!) and the sun hood (also easy peasy!). We were ready to use the stroller in 5 minutes flat, which gave us a taste of how easy to use the Pace would be.

The frame of the stroller is a gorgeous and elegant rose gold colour. We loved how this immediately gave the Pace an eye-catching image. Something that will turn heads and look great as you stroll down the street. The Rose gold is soft in colour and elegant and pairs beautifully with the fabrics on the stroller.

The frame itself is light and elegant. It feels sturdy but refined all at the same time – perfect for a stylish every day stroller.

The handles however are chunky and although they looked striking with their unique shape, they didn't sit too comfortably in the palms of our hands when we were pushing. They are broad and flat and would probably require quite a bit of getting used too. The height of the handles is just right however. Not too low, not too high – perfect for all heights of drivers at 108cm tall.

The wheels on the Pace are yet another feature that style conscious parents will love. The double rear wheels are made of quality hard wearing rubber and are framed with a single spoke featuring the rose gold colour to compliment the frame.

The front wheels make a significant style statement too with their single wheeled sophisticated design. It's not just style that the wheels offer, they offer superb steering too. The front wheels rotate 360 and driving through narrow spaces, turning tight corners and general city driving is super easy thanks to this. You can also lock the front wheels off if you need to, just in case you encounter cobbles or bumpy pavements whilst you are out.

The shopping basket is of adequate size as stroller baskets go. It has nice deep sides and a good- sized surface area.

You have to remember to access the basket from the rear of the stroller as getting in from the sides and the front is quite difficult.

We also found that, as with most strollers, when the seat was fully reclined and babe was sleeping, we couldn't access the basket without lifting the seat unit up slightly – luckily our toddler isn't a light sleeper!

The brake system on the Pace is great.

Rather than having just one brake pedal, the Pace has two. There is one brake pedal next to each rear wheel.

We found it really handy to have a pedal on either side of the pushchair as we didn't need to remember which foot to press with if we were in a hurry.

The pedals are a good size, making them easy to use and you simply push down for on and flick up for off.

Seat

The seat on the Pace is great. It's brilliantly wide, which we loved as it accommodates babies and larger toddlers with ease, as well as providing a comfortable and airy space for baby to travel in (there's nothing worse than a cramped and uncomfortable journey!) The base of the seat has a great depth to it too. Our 2.5yr old tester had more than enough space and we even sat our 5 year old in the stroller too - he still had room to spare!

The seat recline is easy to operate with a large squeeze clasp on the back of the pushchair seat. It reclines fully for newborns and the included footmuff provides a cosy space for babies and toddlers to sleep. Equally, the seat back sits perfectly upright which inquisitive toddlers will really appreciate.

The five point harness is easy to use and nicely padded so not to rub on baby. It has plenty of adjustment in it for even the tallest and broadest of children.

The hood is covered in the same lovely fabrics as the seat unit. We loved how the fabrics seemed to fade from neutral to blue from a distance but up close it was a pattern of perfectly formed diamonds. There is a great window in the rear of the hood making peeping on baby easy and there is also an extendable panel which you can unzip to shade baby from the sun or wind a little bit more.

The Pace comes complete with footmuff and bumper bar and even with a cup holder that clips onto the frame. These are great inclusions as usually you would have to pay extra for these items as additional accessories from other brands. They really add that touch of luxury and value for money to the Pace.

Fold

If we're honest, the fold is similar to that of many other umbrella strollers. What makes the Pace different is that the fold feels smooth and effortless. So even if you are in your finery, you can still stay looking and feeling classy whilst you fold the Pace rather than sweating it out and battling with stiff pedals and fiddly folds.

As with all umbrella folds, the end package is slim but long. There is a carry strap to make popping the stroller in and out of the car easy as well as slinging it over your shoulder if you need to carry it up flights of stairs.

It's not the lightest stroller on the market, but it's not the heaviest we have encountered either. It's a perfectly manageable weight at 8.95kg.

There is also a handy auto lock on the chassis which keeps the package tightly together when folded.

Conclusion

We love the style of this smart and practical stroller from iCoo. Its sleek and ever so slightly curved lines set it apart from your average stroller and give it a sense of elegance and sophistication.

The superior styled wheels drive effortlessly over city terrain and the extendable sun canopy is great too.

The shape of the handles might take a bit of getting used to and the basket isn't very easily accessible but these are minor points for improvements when taken into account that the Pace looks so fantastic, functions easily and comes complete with included accessories which would need to be bought separately with many other stroller brands.
