Well I had the phone call from 'QUINNY' to confirm
my Quinny Buzz 3 would be delivered on Tuesday. I still couldn't believe I
had been chosen. I was hoping it would come in the morning as I was so
excited to take it out and show it off. The doorbell rang at about
11.20am, I ran down my 2 flights of stairs expecting to have to carry
lots of big boxes back up the stairs but luckily it was only the one! I was confused as I didn't think it would all be in that
one box, but it certainly was.
So I ripped open the box and pulled out 2 bags. One big bag with all the
bits in and one small bag with just the front wheel. It
looked so confusing with all the different bits but turns out it was
very easy to put together. I wasn't sure at first how to unfold the
chassis, but there was a lever on the side which you unclip and then all
of a sudden it unfolded itself :) Amazing gas mechanism!! Never seen
that before. I had to put the wheels on and then put the seat onto the
frame. That was pretty much it :)
I put it all together in my kitchen and not on my cream carpet but
wouldnt of thought about that if it wasnt for reading the note which was
attached to the wheels.
Thankyou Quinny, the instructions
were very helpful!
It is now all set up, the raincover fits lovely so
have taken a photo and I'm waiting for my little one to wake up from his
nap so I can put him in his new pushchair.

Wednesday 17th October 2012
finally get to test the pushchair properly for the first time, I've not
been very well this morning so didn't think I would be able to go out but
with the pushchair just staring at me I could not resist!!
the fun begins, having to carry it down 2 flights of stairs sob sob...I
had to get the instruction booklet back out because I could not remember
how to get the seat off so I could fold it back down, turns out I was
doing it correctly but because its still new the buttons are still
really stiff so I found it quite hard but I managed it in the end. I
then folded it down pretty easily and it's fairly light so I carried both
the frame and the seat down the stairs and then went back up for Riley.
thought I would try it facing outwards first as we were only nipping to
the shops which is a 5 minute walk. Riley is a fairly big baby but I
think he fits in the Buzz rather comfortably. The straps adjusted very
easily and I kept the foot rest up but it can be adjusted to different
heights. We had a very nice stroll to the shops and found this very easy
to steer and it's very light. Alot of people were commenting on how
lovely the colour is and that Riley looked 'cosy'. Our first mini outing
was a success :)
Friday 19th October 2012
we had a successful trip on the bus today into Plymouth City Centre to
do some shopping. There was already a pram on the bus in the big
pushchair space so I didn't think I would be able to get on but I managed
to fit in a small pushchair space which was great because
otherwise I would have had to wait another 20 minutes for a bus.
was raining when we left so we did have the raincover on but by the
time we got in there it had stopped luckily. I had a bag of clothes in
the basket and didn't have any room to put the raincover so had to put
that in a separate bag and my friend carried it for me. The basket is
rather wide but isn't very deep so it's easy for things to fall out and
because there is only one handle bar I cant hang my shopping bags on the
handles which I could with my last pushchair so I will have to buy a
buddy lock (I think that's what they are called).
I changed the seat so Riley was facing me because I've not tried it and
have wanted a parent facing pushchair for ages :) I love being able to
see Riley and he found it rather funny looking at me. Riley never used
to sleep in his old stroller for very long but I think its safe to say
hes very comfortable in the Buzz and had a nice hour long nap.
The bumper bar is very very
helpful because I have attached some toys to it which Riley loves to
play with while being chauffeured around :)
Tuesday 23rd October 2012
went to Grandad's house today but he picked us up instead of us having
to get the bus again which was handy....but I was dreading whether the
pushchair would fit in his boot. I was expecting to have to cram it all
in or put the chassis in the boot and the seat unit in on the back seat,
but to my surprise his boot was rather BIG and spacious! BONUS! I
folded the frame and put that in and then I put the seat next to it and
there was still a lot of room. It's a new mondeo. I would have worried if
the boot was small but I will be testing that out next week when I go
for a trip in my friends car which is a lot smaller.

what a day I had today. I will admit I got a bit stressed
and didn't really plan my day very well. I got the bus to Asda
superstore as I dont drive (yet), I thought getting just 2 packs of
nappies and a few bits would be easy enough. It wasn't as easy as I
expected it to be. I normally have handles to put my bags on but as I
have said previously theres only one handle bar and a large but shallow
basket. As you can see in the photo, I had the raincover in the basket
and I managed to wedge a pack of nappies in too. I still had one carrier
bag and another pack of nappies to carry. So while we were waiting for
the bus I decided to put the nappies on top of Riley, which he found
quite funny, and I tied the shopping to the changing bag. I felt
relieved, until I remembered I had to get more things from the shop when
we got off the bus. In total I had 3 bags full of shopping. I carried
them in one hand and steered the pushchair with the other. The Quinny is
quite easy to manoeuvre, until I came to a kerb. Going down the kerb
was ok, but trying to get back up using one hand was a nightmare as it
kept tipping to the side because there is only one wheel at the front.
This is the point where I got a bit stressed but I could see my front
door :) Home at last!
Thursday 1st November 2012
went for a nice long walk today. Up and down lots of hills. I was
expecting the hills to be a bit of a struggle because Riley is quite
heavy, but my friend carried the nappy bag and I found it so easy and
light to push up the hills. We did go through a bit of a muddy field,
the Buzz performed very well and we didn't get stuck in the mud, yay!
When I got home, I gave the wheels a bit of a wipe over with a cloth and
water and they looked good as new again. Although I did notice they
needed a bit more air in the tyres. This was easy and their was a air
pump in the Buzz basket, that's a great idea because otherwise I would
have probably forgot about getting one.
Saturday 3rd November 2012
are moving house tomorrow so Riley is staying at his nannies tonight.
I've just taken a walk up to drop him off, it was very very cold and
windy. Riley was all wrapped up but there was one problem...He wouldn't
keep his blanket over his legs and body. This was a bit of a nightmare
and I tried everything to keep it on him but no matter what, he managed
to kick it off. I would highly recommend anyone to buy a cosy toes for
the winter. It would keep them alot warmer and if I had one, Riley would
of stayed warm without being able to kick it off.
Thursday 8th November 2012
seems as Riley wont keep a blanket over his feet and I don't have a
cosy toes I am attempting to put shoes on him every time we go out so
he doesn't get chilly feet. Hes growing so fast, luckily the foot rest
adjusts so I have moved it down lower so he can stretch his legs a bit
better and isn't restricted. Although I think it would be handy if there
was more than 2 heights it can go on. The first height which is upright
is great for small babies, but then the only other height is really low
but luckily Riley has long legs and they lay quite comfortably against
the leg rest. A middle height would be ideal so Riley could rest his
legs properly. Were going for a change today and Riley is facing
outwards rather than parent facing.
Saturday 10th November 2012
something new with the Buzz today!! Riley is still facing outwards
because he seems to prefer sitting upright and being able to see alot
more. When the buzz is parent facing there is only 2 different heights
you can have it, but I realised today if it is facing outwards it has 3
different heights which is great because it lies very flat but also sits
very upright. We only went for a little walk to the shops today as the
weather has been awful.
Monday 12th November 2012.
managed to test out the Buddy Lock today which I purchased last week.
What a life saver this is and only £5.99. I would recommend any parent
to buy one of these for the Quinny Buzz. I put the rain cover in the
basket, the changing bag fits really nicely on the buzz when the seat
unit is sat upright and I hung a rather heavy and large bag on the buddy
lock. I had both hands free to enjoy pushing the buzz around nicely and
comfortably. I adjusted the handle to a higher height because the bag
did weigh the handle down a bit, this wasn't a problem and it still felt
very sturdy...until I needed to go up kerbs. When I pushed down on the
handle to lift the pram up onto a kerb, the buzz squeaked a little and
felt like the frame was going to break, so I did lower the handle back
down to give it a bit more strength. Luckily its still in perfect
working order but I will be keeping an eye on this and make sure
I don't over load it with heavy bags.
Friday 16th November 2012.
We went for a walk in the rain
today, the rain cover is great because it is tightly fitted. It was very
windy and the raincover didn't come loose at all where as my old
pushchair it used to flap about everywhere.
All rain covers should be
designed like this.
Well done Quinny.
Monday 19th November 2012.
the scenic route to the shops today over lots of grass and up a few
hills. It had been raining and the wheels got very muddy. By the time I
had got home they were pretty much clean again. I did need to pump air
back into the tyres though. This was pretty easy with the pump that is
in the basket. It's only a mini pump but very very good and is handy to
have. Although I couldn't get it apart after, but that doesn't really
matter as its petite.
Thursday 22nd November 2012.
a little problem coming back from town today. I had a rather big bag in
the basket which meant when turning the front wheels, the basket was
catching and it became rather difficult to push so I swapped the large
bag for a smaller bag to solve the problem. It was very very windy, at
one point when I went down a kerb the wind blew and the pram tipped on
its side :(
Sunday the 9th December 2012
Today it was Rileys Christening.
We didn't get out and about much but the Buzz certainly got used a lot. A
few of Rileys friends wanted to test out the Buzz, one of them used it
for a little nap and looked so cute and snug. It also got used at lunch
time as we didn't have any highchairs with us. I always worry about
getting the Buzz seat dirty, Riley's friend sat in it to have her lunch
so it did get a bit mucky but to my surprise all the food wiped off so
easily and it was left with no dirty marks. What a result!!
Saturday the 22nd December 2012
Unfortunately Riley has been very poorly for the
past 3 weeks :( since his christening he's had a sickness bug to start
with, and then developed a severe chest infection, he also lost his
voice so we haven't been able to get out at all, but we have used the Quinny around the house a few times, he's been rather clingy so when I've
needed to do things eg, dishes, washing, I've sat Riley in the Buzz and he's
been happy enough to watch from his pushchair. As of today he is
finally back on the mend, so we're hoping to take him out tomorrow. Sorry
for the lack of updates everyone.
Sunday the 30th December 2012
Unfortunately Riley spent the night in hospital last night and all day
today as he was very poorly. I took the Quinny with us because he didn't
want to be carried around a lot. I found the pushchair a bit of a
nightmare. It was fine in open spaces but as it is fairly big, it took
up alot of room next to his bedside. The nurse offered to move it out of
the ward and put it somewhere but it's the only place Riley would sleep
so we needed it. It didn't seem to bother anybody else though which was
Friday the 11th January 2012
Yay, we finally got to go out today after staying in
over the new year, so the Quinny didn't have much use. I'm not sure how but
Riley seems to be outgrowing the Buzz rather quickly, his feet touch
the foot rest with it on the lowest level. When he has a thick coat on,
his arms seem rather squashed as the seat unit obviously isn't big enough
for him. We went to the shops today to stock up on a few bits. My
friend came with us but wasn't able to come back home with us so I had to
multi task with about 5 shopping bags and push Riley. I made sure the
front wheel was on swivel to make it a bit easier because I could only
push using one hand as I had to carry the shopping bags as they
were too heavy to hang from the handle. The buzz has started getting
rather squeeky which I think it's because Riley is getting too heavy.
January the 25th 2013
Had a bit of a nightmare looking
for the instructions today, they are in a 'SAFE' place which means I
havent got a clue where I have put them. I only needed them to find out
how to adjust the straps higher because they are too small now and end
up being quite tight on Riley's shoulders. So I had a brain wave and
thought about typing into YouTube 'Quinny Buzz Instructions'. How
amazing is YouTube, it gave me a step by step guide on how to adjust
them. I felt rather silly at how easy it was to change. I only had to
detach the top bits and put my hand behind the seat to grab the higher
bits (rather hard to explain in writing so have shown a pic of straps). I
cant remember ever reading about how to change the straps in the
instruction booklet but I maybe wrong. Im determined to find them now!!
our local library waiting to watch 'The Music Man'. There is always
alot of pushchairs all crammed in a small space, trust me to get here
early and be the first pushchair in. I dread to think how I'm going to
get it back out at the end. Will let you know...
Well what a
nightmare, when the music man had finished everyone went rushing to the
pushchairs, quite a few people managed to squeeze their way through the
crowd with their smaller prams, I thought I would attempt it.What a
mistake, I'd get through alot of the gaps but with the back wheels being
rather big and stick out they tended to get caught on other prams wheels
so I ended up sitting and waiting till it was near enough empty. Not a
happy Riley and not a very happy mummy :(
February the 4th 2013
for a walk today and it was absolutely FREEEZING. Riley was due a nap
and I wasn't sure whether he would be able to get comfortable enough to
fall asleep as he had sooo many layers on and he is getting a bit big
for the Quinny. Eventually he did fall asleep all snug and cosy.
Although I was worried about his feet, they touch the foot rest and they
really didn't look comfortable. Luckily we weren't out for too long. This
is going to be a worry for me when we go out for longer walks or trips.
Riley is 14 months now and we have had the Buzz for a few months, Im
rather glad I didn't have to pay for the Buzz if it was only going to
last this long, as it is alot of money. Although if I have another child
I would definitely consider a Buzz from birth.
March the 9th 2013
As I said in the previous updates
Riley is outgrowing the Buzz which is a real shame. As its been such
cold weather, I have had to put a few extra layers on him which means he
is rather squashed in the Buzz seat and finds it very uncomfortable. I
recently got his old stroller out and have been using that on cold days
as he has much more room and has a cosy toes to keep him warm.
March the 13th 2013
we had a bit of a warmer day today so managed to use the Buzz as Riley
didn't need his big coat on. I really enjoyed being able to use the Buzz
again because I do love it. After using a stroller again, I realised how
much easier the Buzz is to push, how much lighter it is and Riley loves
being quite high up and being able to see more as it sits more upright
than his stroller. Luckily I didnt have to go and do any shopping, this
is the main negative thing I have to say about the Buzz is the lack of
space for shopping and things.
March the 25th 2013
been out much the past week or so as it has been sooo cold and the rain
has been horrendous. In the near future I am becoming a childminder.
Although I will probably need to purchase a double pushchair at some
point, I saw someone today that was using a buggy board for their older
child which fitted to the Quinny Buzz. This is a brilliant idea and alot
easier than having to push a double around. This is definitely
something I am going to consider for when I start minding :)
Final Summary 2013
my son was first born I've had a pushchair obsession, I have gone
through soooo many prams and pushchairs and I have never found one I
really really like and get on with, also have never found one that Riley
sits comfortably in which is the most important thing in my eyes....BUT
I've finally found the one for us it's the Quinny
Buzz. Unfortunately he's getting too big for it now, but as it is easy to
clean, I have kept it in pretty good condition so would definately use
it for my next child.:) I would use it from birth this time, where as
with Riley I got it when he was about 10-12 months.
I had the Quinny Buzz I didnt see many of them around, where as now I
see them everywhere which is great, and some that I have seen have been
personalised and look very funky. Quinnys seem to be getting more and
more popular which is brilliant! Keep up the good work guys.
So if your interested in buying a Quinny Buzz.....you will definately not
be disappointed. I think the price maybe a bit high for some people but
they are brilliant quality and will last for a good amount of time. You get
your moneys worth for sure :)
to Quinny and Pushchair Expert for giving me the opportunity to test
the Quinny Buzz, my dream pushchair that I could never afford...hense
why I couldnt get one from birth :( Thankyou from Riley too :)
*Easy to steer
*Parent facing and outwards facing.
*Basket does not store much.
*Wheels need to be pumped up quite often.
*Quite wide (hard to get down aisles in some shops).
