Things we love...

The MIOS oozes style. If you are fans of fashion and design then you will recognise the signature Cybex lines inspired by the Eames design legends. We knew the MIOS was going to look great but we were desperate to find out if it coped with daily urban life too. The frame is light and it folds in one piece, which made jumping on and off buses and trains a doddle. The seat is wide and deep, which gives the passenger a really comfortable ride. The calf rest is funky but adjustable. The ability to take the comfort inlay out of the seat to reveal a mesh airflow seat on a warmer day is great. We were impressed with the recline, which gave four positions to keep our little passenger comfortable in all manner of situations.

The fact that the MIOS can be used as a travel system with a lie-flat Cybex car seat made quick trips really easy and the full-sized carrycot option meant we had a city stroller that was super-comfortable for a tiny newborn too. The harness is quick and easy to buckle up too for those times when you are in a hurry!

Although designed for city streets, the excellent suspension and wheels did handle going over grass, as well as rolling over rougher park paths, with ease.

Things to look out for..

We had to be pretty fussy to look for features that we weren't so struck on with the MIOS. In the end, we found two but these will not be applicable to everyone as they are both a matter of personal preference. Our first niggle is the calf/leg rest. It is an ergonomic curved design so your baby's legs can rest in a natural position, however it was slightly too narrow for our 12-month-old tester, who had to squeeze her lovely baby rolls inside the frame of the leg rest!

The other aspect to make note of is the rear wheel base. It has been designed to be narrow in order to fit through the tightest of gaps in all manner of city situations but the back wheelbase is noticeably narrower than the front wheelbase. We sometimes felt that this made cornering a bit tougher and occasionally bumped into corners of units and skirting boards with the front wheels. This could, of course, be testament to our driving skills!

Our verdict

The MIOS is most certainly a quality pushchair, beautifully designed with bags of style. City strolls are smooth and relaxing when the MIOS is in your palm and baby is comfortable in the cleverly designed seat unit.
