Toddler Boards are becoming ever more popular with parents who want to avoid purchasing a double or even triple pushchair. Little legs can become weary when the novelty of standing on a ride-on board and hitching a ride has worn off, but the Buggypod Perle can offer a solution to this practical parenting conundrum!

The Buggypod Perle is an adaptive seat that can be connected to your existing ride-on board as well as also being used as a booster seat on any chair. Its original and quirky design is a real eye catcher and is certainly a winner with the children.

To use the Buggypod Perle as a ride on tandem seat for your pushchair, you will need to purchase a toddler board. The Perle is compatible with the Lascal Buggyboard Maxi or the Bugaboo wheeled board. You will also need to purchase the Buggypod Perle board adapter.

The Buggypod Perle seat itself arrives pretty much ready assembled. The only requirement is for the seat (a small gym ball) to be inflated. The instructions on how to inflate the ball are clear and it can be done by either mouth or pump. There's even a handy 25cm diameter template to pop the ball in, so that you know you have inflated the ball to the correct size. The seat of the Buggypod Perle is fun and funky and available in three stylish designs - Grey, Zebra Print or Friesian cow print.

The initial attachment of the Buggypod Perle board adapter to your toddler board is the most time consuming aspect of setting up the whole system. However once that's on, it's on for good and there is no need to remove it. The Perle seat clips on and off the board adapter in one simple step and is totally hassle free in that respect. The seat back folds down for easier storage with a clip at the base of the seat back.

With a 5-point adjustable harness, foot rest and pivoting armrests, the Perle offers a super comfortable seat.

The harness buckles are sturdy and secure and the straps can be adjusted across a great range of sizes. The Perle is usable from approximately 6 months old, or when your child is able to sit unaided, all the way up to 15kg. We tried the seat out with children of varying ages: 10 months, 14 months, 2 years and 4 years. All of the children were comfortable in the seat and found the Perle experience super exciting!

The Perle has armrests that secure your child comfortably on top of the inflated seat pad. As the armrests handily pivot back, there's is no chance of the child catching themselves on the seat or tripping whilst climbing in and out of the seat.

You needn't worry about drinks and snacks spilling onto the Perle whilst you are on the go as the seat is fully wipeable and with one quick flick of a baby wipe, it looks as good as new.

The Buggypod Perle is also super handy in its ability to become a booster seat for almost any chair. Whilst strolling out and about, if you decide to make a stop for a snack or lunch then simply click the Perle off the board adapter and pop it onto any seat using the supplied booster seat straps. Again, the instructions on how to secure the seat to the chair are very clear with written instructions as well as visual photographs to follow. The cleverly positioned carry handle means that carrying the Perle around and about is easy and you aren't left fumbling and struggling to carry a large piece of equipment.

The gym ball inside the Perle is extremely hardy and can withstand the hustle and bustle of family life. Our littlest tester found the Perles gym ball seat insert and began to use it as a play toy kicking it around on the grass – a great boredom buster and alternative to carrying extra equipment around.

Some parents may be left disappointed that the Perle is only compatible with two models of wheeled board on the market – the Lascal Maxi and the Bugaboo wheeled board and that these are an additional purchase. However the ability to use the Perle as a booster seat on its own or as a seat on a ride on board will come in handy for many parents and keep those tiny toddler legs from tiring on longer days out.
