We are super-excited to have seen the brand new Quail by egg® in the flesh. We have had a sneak peek, first look and we think you will like what you see.
The Quail is a smaller, compact stroller from the premium egg® brand offering parents another option.
Designed differently from its big brother, the Quail has a full-sized, lie-flat seat that is suitable from birth and can be used both parent and world-facing. As you would expect from egg®, it has the same quality feel and uses luxury fabrics and materials throughout.
We love the unique styling and cute branding on this stroller. Not only is the logo a little Quail, but it also includes the egg® logo and even has tiny quail footprints on the tread of the durable PU rubber tyres!
One of the best features of the Quail, we think, is the interchangeable seat panel, applied to the back of the seat. Not only can you purchase different panels to customise your style, but it's magnetic too, so its really easy to change. It also provides a cover for the ingenious harness system and hood mechanism. Similar to a car seat, you can move the harness and hood up or down to create the perfect space for your little one.
The gunmetal chassis is built with those familiar classic curves from the egg® stroller. For a small pushchair, it still has a spacious basket and there's all-round suspension and Tru-Ride technology for a smooth ride. A coordinating leatherette handlebar gives it a deluxe finishing touch. Quail will be launching in four beautiful colours, including Gotham Black, Quantum Grey, Strictly Pink and the stunning Latte, which we have here.
There will be a number of additional matching accessories to go perfectly with your Quail; this particular chassis has attached brackets for an egg® ride-on board, meaning that you can take an older toddler or child along for the ride too! To attach, you simply hold the board at a 90-degree angle and slot it on. When not in use, you can lift the ride-on board and push it towards the chassis, which holds it up out of the way. Or to remove, simply hold the board at a 90-degree angle and push towards the basket and lift off.
A quick and easy fold is always a big positive for parents, and the Quail doesn't disappoint. The fold can be completed with the seat in place in either parent or world-facing mode and is simple to operate. Just use the recline lever to fold the seat down in half, drop the handlebar using the twist handle, pick up from the centre of the chassis and secure with the cargo lock. It will also freestand for better storage.
We think that the egg® Quail is a great pushchair for parents who want all of the features in a smaller package, ideal for urban use. Available towards the end of this year, the Quail will retail from £599.
