It's here! It's finally here, and we are so excited!
If you have seen the teasers being tossed around Facebook and Instagram then you are sure to know exactly what we are talking about! Bugaboo's offering to the travel stroller market has finally arrived in the form of Ant — an ultra small but super mighty pushchair that makes light work of travels with babies from 6 months all the way up to 22kgs.
Bugaboo's pushchair range has long been recognised as one of the best in the world. The brand's comfort strollers offer something for everyone but never have they presented us with an ultra-small travel stroller before and we have to say we are quite impressed!
The Ant has been designed with features that set out to overcome practical challenges that parents on the move are likely to face.
We've seen the Bugaboo Ant in the flesh and the aesthetics have an edgy, futuristic slant. Our eyes were immediately drawn to the sides and rear of the pushchair where the storage solution is unique and forward thinking to say the least.
The funky side panels are also customisable and give access to your storage compartment even when the stroller is folded, rather like a suitcase! The back of the stroller acts as a casing to protect the seat unit when you decide to use the stroller in trolley mode, or fold it down to its tiny package size of 55 x 38 x 23cm which is perfect for life on the move (and overhead lockers on planes!).
The ergonomic seat combines both support and flexibility — designed to help the child sit up straight to improve posture, but also with a kind of hammock effect that moulds to the shape of the child. It's a unique combination of support and flexibility, which means it's good for the child but also super comfortable AND the seat can parent or world face! In fact the Ant is packed full of features for a small stroller: The whole package weighs just 7.2kg, has integrated all-wheel suspension, a height-adjustable handlebar, extendable UPF50+ sun hood and it is carry-on compartment friendly.
And just when you're wondering if the Bugaboo Ant can be used from birth, yes it can! The parent-facing seat can be reclined fully and combined with a Bugaboo baby cocoon to create the ultimate nest for newborns.
And to make the Bugaboo Ant stroller kinder to our very own Mother Nature Bugaboo decided to skip using rivets, instead making everything with screws so parents can replace parts easily when needed. You can recycle more than 80% of the stroller at the end of its life. So the Ant is not just a stroller that is built to last, it is kinder to the environment too.
What are your first impressions of the Bugaboo Ant? We'd love to hear your thoughts.
