The world was watching as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge emerged
from the Lindo Wing yesterday evening with their newborn son.
After the first round of photos on the hospital steps, the new Royal baby - whose name is expected to be announced tomorrow - was brought out again, this time carried in his car seat by a relaxed-looking Prince William, ready for that first journey home.
So which car seat were they using? Just like his older brother and sister, the youngest prince made the trip to Kensington Palace in a Britax Römer BABY-SAFE infant carrier in unisex Cosmos Black.
Widely available from nursery retailers for under £100, the choice is by no means the latest or most advanced Group 0+ seat from Britax Römer, but it is obviously a brand - and seat - that the couple is happy with. And following the first-time-dad blunder William made when he strapped the tiny Prince George incorrectly into his BABY-SAFE to leave hospital back in July 2013, this time he handled the whole process like a pro!
"We are absolutely delighted to see that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen to use a Britax Römer BABY-SAFE infant carrier again for their third precious newborn. Having previously used our infant carrier with little Prince George and Princess Charlotte, it's wonderful to know we continue to have their seal of approval," said Britax Römer's Bengi Bingol Yalcin.
"We've been producing award-winning safety products for children since the 1970s and have a longstanding British heritage, so it's an honour to see the Royal family use our products. We wish the Duke and Duchess - and of course Prince George and Princess Charlotte - all the very best in welcoming their beautiful new son and little brother home."
Our Pushchair Expert in-depth review awarded the updated i-Size version of the Britax Römer BABY-SAFE infant carrier a top 5 stars. Read more here.
