Anyone with twins or two little ones close in age knows that you can never have enough hands. So you'll be as excited as we were to see the brand-new Mountain Buggy Nano Duo. The team at the popular new Zealand brand has taken the innovation behind its Red Dot design award-winning Nano stroller - slogan: 'The art of travelling light' - and doubled it!
The result is an ultra-lightweight, compact side-by-side double buggy that can be folded down in two blink-and-you'll-miss-it steps, then secured and placed over your shoulder with the handy strap (there's also a carry handle if you don't need both hands free for wriggling children and their accompanying paraphernalia!). The folded Nano Duo weighs 9kg and measures 51.5cm x 73cm x 28cm so is easily manageable for most.
For such a neat package, the Nano Duo offers parents and passengers a surprising amount of space. The seat is tall at 66cm and can be used comfortably right up until around 3 years old, or 15kg, with a deep recline and adjustable leg rest, and there's an extra-large 8kg-capacity gear tray for all those essentials too. The seat unit is suitable from six months but with the addition of the optional cocoon accessory can be used for your newborn.
Engineered with perfect weight distribution for that all-important kerb pop when hitting the city streets, the Nano Duo also boasts rear-wheel suspension for a smooth ride and greater manoeuvrability, all helping to make pushing two less of a workout.
The Nano has been Mountain Buggy's fastest-selling, highest-achieving product to date and it is in response to requests from growing families that the Duo version has now been created, to allow parents with two young children to nip around town - running errands, hopping on and off public transport and negotiating tight spaces as well as kerbs - as easily as ever.
The Nano Duo is available in Cyber (yellow), Silver, Ruby, Nautical and Black, priced at £399, as well as the special-edition Year of the Dog print at £439.
We'll be filming a full video review and more of the Mountain Buggy Nano Duo over the coming weeks so you can see it in action. Stay tuned for that and our hood-to-wheels written verdict too.
