iCandy's latest launch is here and it's not an update or variation but a completely new pushchair. Meet the Lime!
Created to keep things simple for parents, the Lime is part iCandy Strawberry, part iCandy Orange and part something all of its own. It might not have the designer credentials or prestigious connections of some other models from this leading British brand, but it doesn't have their price tag either - and the good news is that for £650 you are very definitely getting an iCandy! There's no mistaking that trademark combination of gleaming chrome and rich hood colours, or the overall shape and appearance, which clearly shows the influences of the Orange.
The Lime has taken some quintessential iCandy features - like the integrated ride-on board that allows a tired older sibling to easily hitch a lift at any time, and the elevator adaptors that bring baby closer to you or further away to give more space - and added them to a straightforward, lightweight pushchair that folds quickly and easily in one piece.
With the fabrics for the spacious carrycot included in the box, the Lime is suitable from birth right up to a generous never-going-to-need-another-stroller upper weight limit of 25kg. You'll find car seat adaptors in the box, too, for instant travel system compatability.
Other parent pleasers include the very large, easy access basket, useful storage pocket, and the fact that the fleece-lined carrycot is approved for permanent overnight sleeping and can therefore double up as a travel cot for your newborn.
The new fold system - dubbed TotalFold by iCandy - makes for a fast and simple fold with the seat and bumper bar still attached, and gives a neat and compact package for a fully featured pushchair. It even has a shoulder strap, and the light aluminium frame means it's practical to carry it that way.
With all the design elements and quality materials you'd expect from iCandy for a smooth push and comfortable ride wherever normal family life takes you, and, of course, parent and world-facing seat options, along with the bonus of the board and elevators, the Lime looks to be ticking boxes galore - so how does it perform when really put to the test? We've been reviewing the iCandy Lime ahead of its launch and you can read our full verdict here.
