Pushchair Expert was delighted to attend the exclusive iCandy Raspberry Roadshow opening event at iCandy stockist Bella Baby in Twickenham. The event saw iCandy take over the new store, the first in the UK for Bella Baby, which has its origins firmly in the Irish market with seven shops there.
Situated on the River Thames, bordered by both Richmond Park with its famous resident deer herd and Hampton Court, and of course home to England Rugby, Twickenham was the perfect location to show off the new iCandy Raspberry, a pushchair with the motto ‘Own The City'.The evening saw us invited in by a Queen's Guard, dressed head to toe in military threads created by the team from Bella Baby and iCandy. Even the table decor and wonderful array of nibbles and drinks carried the theme of iconic London motifs, with bright red telephone boxes, Routemaster buses and more adding to the atmosphere.
There was a fabulous range of iCandy products on show, including the Orange, Peach and Strawberry, but the hero of the night was undoubtedly the iCandy Raspberry, which has been refreshed for the new generation with some exciting additions and clever upgrades.
Members of the iCandy team were on hand to demo the products, and Matt Newton undertook a LIVE demo on Instagram to showcase the new features of the 2018 Raspberry.
The stand-out additions are the inclusion of a carrycot for the Raspberry which, like all iCandy carrycots, is suitable for permanent overnight sleeping, and nifty iCandy elevators, allowing you to bring your little one closer to mum and dad. The industry-first iCandy elevators now mean that the Raspberry can be used with ease at cafes, restaurants and at home as a highchair.
Other changes include a wheel redesign, puncture-proof PU tyres, lockable front-swivel wheels and the iCandy auto-lock, which bring the Raspberry closer in line with other iCandy pushchairs. In response to parent feedback, the seat unit has been crafted for deeper comfort, with carefully quilted touches bringing a new level of luxury to the stroller, while a handy storage pocket on the back of the seat helps ensure valuable items are always close to hand. The iCandy branding has been reduced to give a cleaner, more sophisticated appearance, which is enhanced by the finishing touches of an ergonomic soft-touch leatherette handle and carrycot bumper bar. A brand-new Duo-Pod multi-climate system provides a footmuff and seat liner in one, and an extendable SPF50 canopy includes a meshed vent for increased ventilation.
The iCandy Raspberry fabrics have also had a complete makeover, with a new honeycomb weave giving a two-tone impression. The latest fabrics are also much denser. In keeping with the design of the Raspberry as the quick, lightweight and agile stroller of the iCandy family - made for city life with all its hopping on and off transport, nipping into shops and cafes and changing levels via lifts and escalators - the new Raspberry colourways are all inspired by London locales: Bloomsbury Black, Savile Row Sand, Kings Road Khaki, Piccadilly Pink and Greenwich Grey.
Admiring the fresh new look, including the Moonrock and chrome chassis finishes, on the night were a host of guests, including celebrity stylist Caroline Watson and athlete and fitness guru Gabriel Sey with his little boy.
The new iCandy Raspberry is now available to pre-order for delivery in January 2018.
