Safety guidelines now state that newborn babies under 2 months old should not spend more than 30 minutes at a time in a traditional car seat because the position it places them in - while offering excellent protection in the event of an impact - could impede their airways and have a negative effect on healthy spine development. The maximum recommended time between 2 and 6 months of age is two hours.
As a result, popular brand Joie designed the i-Level, an i-Size infant carrier meeting the most up-to-date and stringent testing standards that can also be adjusted into a near-flat position both in and out of the car. The 157° recline gives a healthier angle for young babies, giving confidence that they can breathe clearly and comfortably without compromising on their safety while on the road.
Especially for parents who have to travel longer distances on a regular basis to see family, or who live in a remote location where everything is a significant drive away, not being bound by time limits gives them the freedom to take baby where and when they need to go without worry.
We invited six parents and parents-to-be to a full demonstration of the i-Level and asked them to try it for themselves and share their thoughts...
