It's not often that we get to go behind the scenes and actually see how a pushchair is made. Never mind Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, our golden ticket was going to see the egg® stroller factory. Having cracked the premium market in just a couple of years, we were keen to find out how they are producing one of the most sought-after pushchairs right now.
Our adventure started in egg's Headquarters in leafy Leicestershire and took us all the way to Hong Kong and China. The design team passionately talked about the process and time taken to bring the egg® stroller to market. We were privy to seeing some of the conceptual designs and it was clear how meticulous they have been to ensure each and every aspect of the pushchair was perfected.
Technical Director Ant Butters said the egg® stroller is born out of love with careful consideration given to a baby's and parents needs. Ant said: "We have taken the time to understand what parents want. From style and design through to features and feel. We made sure the egg stroller met the needs of parents before launching it. We are extremely proud with what we have created."
So, want to see what goes in to making the egg stroller? Check out our time over at their Chinese factory.
From the hand-stitched handlebar to carefully sewn seat liners and chic boxes that the egg® stroller is carefully packaged in, everything is thoughtfully done. We were very impressed with what we saw and we hope you have enjoyed this rare glimpse in to how a pushchair is made.
