Taking place in the uber cool Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, it was a mystical occasion. Entering in near darkness, there really was not much to see at the beginning, full of intrigue. With a room packed full of people, there was a buzz in the air, everyone wanted to find out (and see) more. We were taken through to a huge room that was set out like a catwalk with a huge screen behind it. We must admit, we did take front row seats!
One by one key personnel from iCandy took it in turns to tell us about the exciting developments (did you know that every 12 seconds iCandy sells a product across the World) at iCandy HQ and of course see the new products! The Midnight Collection was the first to be revealed by some very on-brand models. The photos of this pushchair are great but it really is beautiful to behold in person, every small detail has been defined - in rose gold. Then came the new changing bags and the Style collection for the Strawberry, new editions which have definitely upped the glam stakes for this pushchair. We sense iCandy fans will love the stylish new items on show - look out for them in stores soon!
After seeing the new lines up close, we were treated to the most brilliant evening of entertainment. Once again, we entered the evening in relative darkness with some mystical creatures greeting us along the way. The whole evening felt like a nod to Midsummer Nights Dream. What followed was a delicious three course meal and a bidding war amongst retailers to get their hands on one-off iCandy pushchairs, colourways that no one else has or will have. A whopping £32,000 was raised for Great Ormond Street Hospital (the Company's official charity) and a representative from the world-renowned hospital gave a talk on why fundraising is key and how the money raised helps patients.
Once the auction hammer struck for the last time, the night hit a different chord as Sophie Ellis-Bextor got everyone up and on the dancefloor!
In usual iCandy style, it was a glossy and classy affair with a few surprises thrown in for good measure. We're not quite sure how they will top this year's event but one things for sure, we look forward to finding out...
