Things we love…

In true Cosatto style, the Giggle Quad gave us lots to coo over. The chassis is strong and felt great quality and the quirky 4-wheeled design looked great as well as performing well over all terrains. The wheels are streamlined and stylish and made of great quality materials that give a really smooth roll. It was very quick and simple to lock the front wheels off for rolling over gravel and longer grass using the twist sections over them.

The additional pouch to the rear of the shopping basket is a clever feature that we used a lot for keeping easy-to-reach essentials at hand all the time.

The striking but smart fabrics all have a nature-themed design, which fits perfectly with strolling and exploring the outdoors with your baby. The hood and carrycot are lined with gorgeous illustrations that keep your baby's eyes and mind active whilst parents are busy with their day-to-day chores.

The seat recline is a two-handed operation but it is good to be able to recline the seat in both parent and world-facing positions.

For a full-sized pushchair, the fold is really compact. Cosatto recommends removing the seat from the frame to fold, but the end result is a package that takes up no more room that a stroller would in your car boot - which really impressed us.

It was also great to be able to use the Giggle Quad as a complete travel system - carrycot (suitable for occasional overnight sleeping) for newborns as well as using the Port infant carrier on the frame and moving up to the seat unit when baby had outgrown these options.

Things to look out for...

After using the Giggle Quad for a little while, we do have a few niggles that may prove a problem for some parents. Firstly we have to point out the seat unit. Whilst on the whole the seat unit is fabulous, it is quite shallow from the back of the seat to the crotch strap, which means your toddlers may outgrow it relatively quickly. This is a pity, particularly given that the seat has been tested to a higher-than-average 20kg weight limit.

The hood gave ample coverage with its additional fold-out sun visor but there are no peekaboo windows which we missed a great deal, especially when baby was world-facing.

The fold buttons are small and hidden on the inside of the pushchair frame. It takes a bit of practice to become familiar with the fold and to operate it smoothly but once you have got to know it, it's just fine.

The final point to note is the shopping basket. Although deep with the additional pockets and pouches (which we loved!), it just wasn't the right shape or size to fit all of our daily luggage in, which was a shame.

Our verdict...

The Cosatto Giggle Quad is a great all-round first pram for parents who want a fun and bold pushchair. The wheels and chassis are great quality and the fold is nice and neat, making it perfect for families who are tight on car boot space.

The busy fabrics inside the carrycot provide a super stimulus for newborns and the nature-themed colourways are fun for little (and bigger!) ones to look at too.

The shallow seat may mean that your toddlers outgrow the pushchair before they reach 20kg but in the meantime will provide a very comfortable space for your baby to travel in.
