As the summer holidays roll in we are all planning those important day trips to theme parks and attractions to keep the kids entertained. Whether it be as exotic as Disney or a local theme park or attraction, pushchairs and strollers might well be at the top of your list of things to pile into the car. Here at Pushchair Expert HQ, we have pooled our experiences to help you make the most of your pushchairs and strollers on your day out to the theme park.
Like it or not, you will cover some miles when out and about around the theme park for the day. Put your Fitbits on and grab your pedometers as the theme park is the perfect place to grab that extra bit of exercise. Walking such long distances can make little legs weary and we all know what happens when our little ones get tired! To avoid meltdowns and tiny tantrums, children of all ages might want to hop in a stroller to give their legs a rest for a few minutes.
Try to take a pushchair with a larger seat unit suitable even for the oldest child in your party. If you are thinking of accommodating children of 15kg and upwards, think about the recommended weight limit of the pushchair you are using. The Out'n'About Nipper Single is brilliant for this purpose as it has a roomy seat and a maximum weight limit of 22kg.
It's worth bearing in mind that you are going to be parking your pushchair in very busy stroller parks so having a stand-out feature on your stroller is going to be handy! Anyone who has ever been to Disney, will know that unless your pushchair screams "I'm here!", it can be really hard to find it amongst the sea of almost identical strollers The Cosatto Yo2 Stroller is the perfect theme park 'look at me' stroller. With its stand out fabric patterns you won't need to spend what seems like hours hunting for your buggy in the stroller park. On top of its bright and cheery exterior, the Yo2 also boasts a host of other features to make sure the kids will be happy and comfortable all day long; such as adjustable calf-support, padded removable bumper bar, cup holder, extendable hood, harness pads, seat liner/footmuff and multi position seat recline.
Any parent will be able to empathise with the amount of ‘stuff' that is needed to enjoy an all important day out. Packing for the theme park can mean packing for every eventuality. With the need to fit everything from wellies to suncream and 10 changes of clothes in your bag, on top of your picnic for five - a big basket on your theme park pushchair is a necessity! The UPPAbaby Vista delivers just this. The Vista is a pushchair that can carry an immense load in its oversized basket. With great maneuverability, it can weave its ways in and out of crowds while your child rides in comfort. On top of the huge basket, the Vista is also capable of transforming into a pushchair for two and has pull out sunshades to protect them on a hot Summer's day.
On busy days, a trip to the theme park can mean an awful lot of stop starting. Stumbling over a difficult to find foot brake isn't ideal for this. The new phil&teds smart pushchair is ideal for a stop-start busy day out with its easy to reach hand operated brake system. Literally flick the brake on and off with your fingertips as many times as needed without stumbling and tripping trying to find a foot pedal in busy crowds or whilst the kids are shouting for their lunch. The smart also offers a large, wide seat with a maximum load capacity of 20kg as well as a large hood and super comfy soft fabrics.
Lots of you will need a vehicle to transport more than one child around the theme park. The Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double is a perfect theme park companion for 2 little passengers. The City Mini GT Double was built with your child's comfort in mind. It has two individually reclinable seats with vented panels and large individual sun canopies. At 76cm wide, it is still narrow enough so not to feel as though you are steering a bus around the theme park. The seats can lay flat and are suitable from birth. They can carry a handy 23kg per seat: this is great if you need to accommodate older children or a mixture in ages.
Whatever pushchair you choose we'd love to see your pictures of your fun days out at the theme parks this summer.
