The Roomie Glide comes in a nice and compact box and is completely flat packed. The set up didn't take much doing and it was all up and ready within ten minutes. All it takes is four bar supports to be put in place along with a few poppers and for the two legs to be connected. Then you can pop the crib section on top!
One of the reasons that bedside cribs are so popular is that you get to keep baby close to you, while still being in their own safe space. You can use the Roomie Glide either as a stand-alone-crib or attached to your bed as a bedside crib with the buckle and straps to keep it secure. We loved that baby is always within arms reach to either feed or soothe and keep an eye on. It's great that the Roomie Glide can fit most beds, including divans. It has adjustable folding feet that allow you to position it right up to your bed if they won't fit underneath.
When fitting the Roomie Glide as a bedside crib, the buckle sticks through the material at the ends of the crib. You can then attach the strap to it and loop it around the frame of your bed. It's essential to make sure that there is no gap between your bed mattress and crib. The maximum height difference between the parents' mattress and the drop side at the lowest position is 2cm.

Thanks to the size of the crib, the Roomie Glide will easily last your baby past the 6 months that it's recommended that they sleep in the same room as you for. It has a maximum weight limit of 9kg. The mattress fills the crib, and although cushioned and thick, it's still firm enough for newborn babies. It's covered in a mesh fabric cover to help airflow, and this can be removed and machine washed if you need it. We have also been testing it with the Joie Roomie sheets that are extra soft and made with 100% organic cotton. These are the perfect size for the crib and come in a pack of two for £20 to make night changes quick and easy!
This crib offers something different to other bedside cribs as it glides smoothly from side to side, but only when not attached to the bed. This motion is perfect to help soothe a grisly baby. The glide function doesn't have to be on all the time though and can be turned off by pressing the two buttons at either end to keep it stable. Once locked, it's really sturdy and doesn't have any movement.

Making it easy to gain access to baby in the middle of the night, the side panel closest to the bed slides up and down and is operated with one hand by squeezing the button in the centre. This only drops down so far so that you still have a lip to prevent baby from rolling out into your bed. Both sides of the crib have mesh panels to ensure plenty of airflow throughout.
The fact that you can adjust the height at either side of the Roomie Glide in any of the 11 height positions means that the bedside crib is suitable for use with lots of different beds! This is done by lifting up the buttons at either end and lifting or lowering. When it is used as a standalone crib, you can also adjust only one side to create a soothing tummy tilt which gently inclines the angle for children that may suffer from colic or reflux. This can be done with a maximum four position difference.

Ideal for travelling or trips to family and friends, the Joie Roomie Glide comes with its very own travel bag and can be packed down to give your baby a comfortable place to sleep wherever you are! It should ensure that your little one sleeps well in a place that they are used to.
If you want to move the Roomie Glide around the house to different rooms it has four wheels that can also be locked individually. It would be great if these wheels swivelled too as they are limited to just moving the crib along lengthways. Covered in a rubber material, the wheels shouldn't mark your home floors.

We would definitely recommend looking at bedside cribs for your little one, whether it's your first or fifth! They help to keep them close by and always within reach for feeding or changing. As they attach to your bed, it's kept secure too.
The Joie Roomie Glide is a great option for either a standalone or a bedside crib as it comes with a host of other features to help keep baby happy. We love the gliding function that is super smooth and almost guaranteed to help soothe them. It's almost a universal fit as can fit with loads of different beds and has 11 different height positions.
As the sides are both mesh, you have great visibility of baby as well as reassurance that there is plenty of air circulating. Being able to move one side down helps to transfer baby smoothly during feeds in the night.
Our only negative is that the wheels can't be swivelled and only allow you to travel in one direction.
