It was so great to be able to slide the Hauck Runner 2 out of the box, clip on the wheels and be ready to roll in an instant. The standout feature that we love about this pushchair has to be the wheels. They are large and air filled and they pushed over absolutely ANY ground we encountered with total ease. It was great to know that the air wheels absorbed any bumps and uneven surfaces so our passenger always seemed to be riding in the total comfort of the pushchair seat. The seat is nice and roomy with enough height and width for toddlers which is really handy seeing as the pushchair can carry a child up to 25kg. It was great to know that our 4 or 5 year old could hop into the seat safely when we were out on a long walk.
The seat can be used from birth and the recine is altered using a strap system leaving infinite possibilities of angles. This is useful if you have a reflux baby and are worrying about them lying flat for periods of times. If you are wanting to use the Runner 2 from birth you can also use the 2 in 1 carrycot which is purchased as an additional accessory.
At the back of the seat is a handy flap that can be lifted which is great for ventilating baby's space and for letting extra light in.
The hood can be pulled forward and gives good coverage, providing ample protection from the wind and sun.
Another user friendly feature of the Hauck Runner 2 is the fold. The ease of fold was a breath of fresh air. Just pull the two ring pulls up on either side of the pushchair frame and voila, it folds! We loved how we could fold in such a quick and fuss-free manner and get on with what we were doing / where we were going!
There really aren't many features that we found difficult to use or that we disliked. The strap recline system does need two hands to use and it can need a little bit more effort to push the seat up with the weight of a toddler in the seat….but this is by no means a huge negative. It's great to have the luxury of a bumper bar across the seat unit and babies and toddlers love holding onto this, especially when sitting up and going across bumpier ground, but it is worth mentioning that the bumper bar is not on a hinge so does need removing completely to get your child in and out of the seat.
In essence, the Hauck Runner 2 is genius in its simplicity. All of the features are there to be used and all of them can be used fuss free - exactly what parents need!
If you plan on enjoying the great outdoors with your children and need a pushchair that can cross grass, mud, rocky paths, streams as well as do the weekly shop and push along pavements then the hauck Runner 2 is most definitely a cost effective solution for you.
