Cybex Eezy S Twist + 2 Review
In 2017, Cybex released a convenient stroller featuring a swivel seat that can parent or world face. Now an upgraded model has been released so we have put it to the test.
If you don't want to be lumbered with a pushchair that takes up a tonne of space but still want to be able to use it from birth then the Eezy S Twist +2 is a super option.
- Compact fold package
- Great extendable hood
- Much taller seat unit
- Easy to use harness
- Quality product
- Super wheels
- Good sized basket for a stroller
- All wheel suspension
- Need to practice fold and unfold
- Not always easy to swivel (can catch the wrong button)
Style and function feature everywhere on the Eezy S Twist +2... and that's before we have even tried its signature party trick of the 360° rotating seat unit. Often parents want a handy stroller that can be used in all manner of situations and this is really possible thanks to the versatility of this little stroller. The large wheels are nippy and streamlined but substantial enough to handle most terrains as well as giving the pushchair passenger a really smooth ride. Each wheel has its own individual suspension system making the ride for baby as comfortable as possible.
We love the fact that this stroller can be used from birth with a number of different travel options for baby. The seat unit can be used in the full lie-flat position from birth without the addition of a newborn pack, ensuring baby is always comfortable on the go. Even though the frame is slim and streamlined, it has the ability to house a full sized carrycot in the form of the Cybex COT S or a soft carrycot in the form of the Cybex COCOON S. It's also great that the frame of the Eezy S Twist +2 can be used with a Cybex car seat (including the Cloud Z i-Size) giving this stroller the ability to become a travel system whilst still being as light as a feather to push and lift.
The improvements to the Cybex Eezy S Twist +2 have meant changes to the seat unit. The now taller and wider seat unit has the benefit of an easy adjust harness and a super hood which gives lovely coverage with a small zip out extendable panel. The one handed recline on the seat is easy to use and makes sleeping on the go comfortable for any passenger. Our tester found the seat unit really comfortable and especially liked the new addition of the bumper bar to grab on to. Another bonus of the seat is the zippable storage pouch - we found this great for keeping keys and dummies in!
Of course the party trick of the stroller has to be the fact that the seat unit can be twisted around allowing your baby to face the parent as they stroll. This novelty of the 360 degree rotating seat is an exciting feature for many parents who like to sport the latest trends and innovations in pushchairs. You can use the button under the seat to quickly swivel the seat around and be facing your baby or toddler - something not many small and lightweight strollers enable.
Although the 360 degree rotating seat is a bonus in many respects, you need to make sure that you grab the correct button or you will end up releasing the seat from the frame. It took us quite a few goes to make sure that we were pressing the correct button so that we did not end up with the pushchair seat in one hand and the frame in the other! But as with everything, practice makes perfect!
The fold size is great and you can operate it with just one hand, but you need to bear in mind that the seat needs folding in two places before the handlebar mechanism can be used to fold the chassis - another thing that just takes a few practices to get used to. Unfolding the pushchair, you need to make sure that the backrest of the seat is clicked back into place correctly.
If you don't want to be lumbered with a pushchair that takes up a tonne of space but still want to be able to use it from birth then the Eezy S Twist +2 is a super option. The fact that such an agile and compact stroller can be used with a full sized carrycot or car seat paired with the large multi-terrain wheels offers versatility for parents like few other strollers.
You might need to practice the fold and unfold as well as the seat rotation but if you love a good gimmick then the 360 degree spin seat is sure to impress your parenting friends, not to mention the fact that this stroller will see you from birth all the way up to 22kg when your child will no longer need to hitch a ride.
