Sophie's Verdict:

CBX is a relatively new brand in the UK, an affordable option from the same impressive stable as Cybex and gb, and the Leotie Lux is its modern travel system with luxurious accents.

CBX Leotie Lux Review
Things we love

If you want style and performance on a budget then the CBX Leotie Lux is great. When we first opened the box we couldn't quite believe that you get the pram, pushchair, raincover and car seat adapters all for a tiny £349.95. The initial set-up of the pram is simple and we really loved the classic looks of the Leotie Lux with its black frame, navy fabrics and tan leather accents on the handlebar and bumper bar.

The carrycot is smart and roomy and very cosy for your tiny baby. The lining can be removed for washing if needed and the carrycot also very cleverly folds flat for storage or travel.

The seat unit is made of a really comfortable and quite frankly squeezable foam-feel fabric. It is soft and so, so comfortable for the passenger.

Underneath the pushchair is the largest of shopping baskets, which was able to house two backpacks, several water bottles and a few coats, so there is more than enough room in there for your daily baggage.

One of the most noticeable features of this pushchair has to be the fabulous suspension on the rear. The wheels are made of a good quality rubber material and, combined with the suspension, give the smoothest of rides over pavements, grass and gravel too.

The fold is easy to operate and if the seat is in the forward facing position you can even fold it all in one without removing any components from the pushchair.

Things to look out for

We encountered a few hurdles with the CBX Leotie Lux when it came to packing it into our car for our first day out. With shopping in the boot, we didn't have enough space for the pushchair with its wheels on. We experienced the same issue on trips in a Nissan Juke and a BMW 3 series, and resorted to popping the back wheels off - everything then fitted in the car just fine. Unsurprisingly, a Range Rover boot took the Leotie Lux in one piece with the rest of our bags and room to spare! The fold package is large but can, of course, be made smaller by removing those rear wheels and seat unit.

On sunnier days we weren't always able to shade our little one completely as the hood doesn't quite extend as much as others we have tested. It does at least have a good viewing window, which was ideal for sneaking a peek at baby.

We also found the harness height alteration a touch fiddly and the harness pads tended to slip down the straps rather than stay in place on baby's chest.

Our verdict

If you want style and performance on a budget then the CBX Leotie Lux might just be what you've been looking for. The roomy carrycot and comfortable seat unit come as a complete package in one box, all for a pocket-pleasing price of £349.95. Incredible!

The extra-large shopping basket and superb suspension make days out easy and the sleek and stylish lines of the chassis are framed beautifully by the leather-look accents on the handlebar and bumper bar. Whether parent or world-facing, passengers are always comfortable in the soft foam seat and the one-handed recline is easy to operate as well.

Although we found that the hood could be larger and the harness was fiddly when trying to alter the height position, we were so impressed by the amount of pushchair you get for your money that these points almost fell into insignificance.

It is also worth noting if you use a smaller or medium-sized family car that we had to remove the rear wheels to fit the Leotie Lux into our boot. The fold isn't small but it is very easy.
