When a new pushchair lands in our office we always get excited and we couldn't wait to unbox the Babymore MeMore and put it through its paces.
Babymore is a well established name in the nursery world, known for making luscious nursery furniture and they have now turned their nursery expertise to the pushchair market too.
The MeMore is a stylish and practical pram and pushchair available as a travel system bundle that comes complete with the Peanut infant car seat and Peanut ISOFIX base - in essence, everything you need in one job lot!
Assembling the MeMore was simple and easy. The chassis is sleek but sturdy and we were immediately met by several key features which will most definitely make parents smile. The chassis looks smart and could easily be mistaken for a £1000 pram from a distance but we did find a few lumps and bumps on the chassis finish when we inspected it up close.
The large basket really rose to the challenge carrying coats and bags for three children with ease. It's great to have such a large storage space underneath the pushchair and we were never short of storage when out and about.
When pushing the MeMore we were immediately struck by how light it felt. The aluminium chassis is easy to push and we could easily steer with one hand. Perhaps the main reason we could push the MeMore so easily lies in the wheels. They have a great suspension system which really softens the ride for its little passenger.
The handlebar is adjustable in height using the button in the centre of the handlebar. This is really useful when different family members are using the pushchair.
The brake is easy to locate and flick on and off with your foot and the instruction manual claims it is water and sand resistant which is always handy when on wet walks and day trips out to the seaside.
The fact that the MeMore comes as a complete system gives you a variety of seating options for baby from the get go.
When using the MeMore from birth, you will begin with the infant carrycot. The carrycot is a lovely space for baby to nestle in the lay flat position from birth up to when they reach 9kg (which is usually around 6-7 months in age).
We are really impressed with the MeMore carrycot. It has lovely deep sides, comes with a comfortable liner and also has a lovely apron to cover the carrycot which shields the baby and protects them. The fabrics and finish of the carrycot add to the overall stylish look and feel of the MeMore.
The hood pulls up and clicks into place meaning it doesn't blow down in the wind and is easy to pop back down again by pressing the two round buttons on either side of the hood hinge. Another fabulous feature of the hood is the pull down sun visor which provides a huge amount of extra shade for baby on sunnier days.
Removing a carrycot from the frame can sometimes be a delicate operation but the MeMore has a very simple and easy one handed carrycot removal operation. All you need to do is squeeze the visible button in the centre of the hood and handle and lift the carrycot off the frame. We found this really handy and loved the fact that we weren't waking our sleeping baby when we needed to lift them into the house after a walk.
When the baby is able to sit up unaided it is time to move them from the carrycot into the toddler seat unit. This seat unit will last from this point all the way up until your child reaches 22kg in weight which is around 4 years old.
The seat unit is just as smart in appearance as the carrycot. The detailing on the fabrics really give a feel of a luxurious pram system when in fact the Babymore MeMore is very affordable.
The seat unit can be placed on the chassis in parent or world facing positions and in either of these positions you can recline the seat using the one hand operation on the back of the seat. As well as the 4 recline positions, there is also an adjustable calf rest which can be popped up to support babies legs when they are napping and down when an older child is using the seat and their legs need to reach down to the footrest which is integrated into the pushchair chassis.
The leatherette bumper bar is easy to swivel open when getting baby in and out of the seat and the beautifully padded harness was easy to clip and unclip without too much of a fuss.
The hood of the seat unit is adorned in the same UPF 50+ fabrics as the seat unit. It is showerproof (always handy in this british weather!) and it also has a similar pull out visor as the carrycot which shades baby beautifully from the sun when it decides to shine!
Along with the carrycot and car seat there is an option to use the included elevator adaptors which alter the position of the seat or carrycot on the frame. They may be a small accessory but they are most definitely useful. The seat unit or carrycot can be brought closer to the parent and interacting with baby is so much more personal and all round easier.
The included Peanut car seat and ISOFIX base are not just able to be used in your car but the car seat can also be popped on and off the MeMore chassis using the adaptors which are included with your package. This is handy if you are nipping on short journeys here and there and you don't want to wake your napping baby.
The car seat itself is suitable from birth up until your child reaches 13kg in weight. When positioned in the car it is rear-facing which is the safest position for baby and it also has the added bonus of a side protection system. The fabrics of the car seat coordinate with the rest of the pushchair system and having the additions of the hood and apron really make it a cosy space for baby if you do choose to use the car seat on top of the pushchair chassis for trips outside. The Peanut car seat is perfect if you do the odd short car journey around town.
On top of the carrycot, seat unit and car seat you also receive many added extras which you would usually have to buy as additional extras. The seat liner, changing bag, raincover and footmuff are all luxuries that really made using the MeMore that bit more special for a parent and babies ride in the pushchair more comfortable too.
Finding a pushchair that is easy to fold can be a high priority for many parents and we can conclude that the Babymore is indeed simple and quick to fold and you can even do it with one hand.
If you are using the MeMore with the carrycot or car seat on the chassis then you will need to remove them from the frame before you fold.
To fold the chassis, you need to push the two buttons on the handlebar at the same time, and push the telescopic handlebar into the chassis. The handle will drop to the floor and all you then need to do is pick up the carry handle strap that is visible above the basket and the package will fold. It can stand on the floor by itself or is easy to pop over your shoulder and carry to your car. The wheels release easily with quick release buttons too just in case you have a small car boot.
You can also fold the MeMore with the seat unit in place which is really handy if you are in a rush.
A well established name in the nursery sector, known for making luxurious nursery furniture, Babymore have now turned their nursery expertise to the pushchair market too. The Babymore MeMore is most certainly worth investigating if you are looking for a practical, comfortable and purse friendly pram system. Everything you need to transport your baby from birth up to 22kg in weight (approximately 4 years) comes in one box at a price that won't make you gasp. The snug and cosy carrycot gives newborns a safe and comfortable space to travel during their first few months of life and the comfortable bucket seat has some great features too, such as the extendable hood, one hand recline and comfortably padded harness.
Not only will your baby have a comfortable ride but practical features will make the parents' lives easier too. The simple free standing fold can be operated with the seat unit attached to the chassis and the carrycot is able to be removed from the frame with just one hand.
The fact that the MeMore bundle includes the Peanut car seat and Peanut isofix base means that baby can be transported by car from birth and the transition from car to pushchair chassis is seamless and avoids waking the baby. The inclusion of the Peanut car seat makes the MeMore Travel System a great option for parents who occasionally use the car to transport their little one.
Overall we feel that although the quality could be better in places, the Babymore MeMore offers great value for money in the form of a stylish and practical allround pushchair that is comfortable for baby too, especially for families working to a budget.
