The Latest ADAC Car Seat Safety Test Results!

ADAC is an independent German motoring organisation, which has its own state of the art technology facility, where each year it puts a vast variety of car seats on the market through rigorous car safety tests.

Quick Summary: The tests include a side impact test which is not compulsory in the ECE European standard car seat approval tests. It also includes an ease of use assessment as ADAC recognises the importance of correct handling and installation of car seats. The latest 2017 ADAC car seat crash test results are out and parents will be relieved to see that many of the best selling seats on the UK markets were rated as ‘Good'.

Amongst the seats that were tested were several UK best-selling models. The Stokke iZi Go Modular i-Size and i-Size base, Cybex Aton 5 and Atone Base 2, Britax Römer BABY-SAFE i-SIZE and iSize Base and iSize Flex Base all received this ‘Good' rating.

The Nuna PIPA icon and PIPAfix Base, The Maxi-Cosi AxissFix Plus and RECARO Child Safety Zero.1 i-Size were also rated ‘Good'.

The GB Idan and Base also faired ‘Good' in the test and this is a seat we expect to see lots more of on the UK market very soon.

Surprisingly none of the seats that were tested received a ‘Very Good' rating this year - but these tests are so stringent that only the most perfect of seats will receive this rating.

Last year there were a few surprise results from the ADAC tests but this year all seems well and there we no shock results to speak of.
