There are a few simple ways to find out whether your car has got ISOFIX:
• Go and have a look - this is perhaps the easiest option. A lot of vehicles have either a tiny plastic circle on the seat back, tags between the back of the seat and seat base or a black cap covering the ISOFIX points. Just to cause confusion, some cars have no indication and you have to stick your finger down the back of your seats. If you haven’t got children, you may find a pound coin - if you have got children you are likely to find the odd cheerio and raisin. If you have ISOFIX, you will locate two metal hoops. Generally ISOFIX points are located in the back seats behind the passenger and driver’s seats but some cars also have them in the middle seat and even the front passenger seat.

• Check your car manual, if you haven’t lost it of course! You can download most manuals from the internet if you need it.
• Google it - if you are struggling to find the answer, there are bound to be other parents that have had the same question.
So hopefully now you know whether your car has ISOFIX or not! If it doesn’t, don’t panic as there are lots of non-ISOFIX options which, as long as you install correctly, are just as safe as an ISOFIX installed seat.
