Colours

The Koochi Modhero comes in two colours - Java and Saigon.

Chassis

Light and strong, the chassis of the Modhero is perfect for a do-it-all travel system. The wheels are made from an EVA puncture resistant material and we especially love the size of the rear wheels - they are large and able to drive over any terrain. The wheels coped well with a wet and mucky walk as well as with city strolling. They are easy enough to pop off if they get too muddy and need a clean.

The Modhero felt superb to push, whether we used it with a tiny baby in the carrycot or with a two year old in the seat unit, it still pushed smoothly.

Handlebar

With an adjustable handlebar, it will suit most parent's heights and was comfortable to push. Its design is very rounded and stands out from the pushchair. This cleverly gives you room to walk if you have a big stride, so you won't be tripping over the back of the pushchair if you go for a brisk walk!

Brake

The brake on the Modhero is super for parents living a busy, stop/start lifestyle. It is operated by one simple to use, easy to see, push on – flick off foot pedal. We used the brake on hills, pavements and even on the train platform. Everytime we applied the brake it was rock steady and the pushchair felt very secure.

Most parents carry a lot of baggage with them to cover every eventuality, and this shopping basket has definitely been designed to suit the needs of busy parents. The roomy basket has high sides meaning it can hold all manner of items, big and small. There is plenty of room to keep your raincover in the basket as well as a changing bag, shopping, coats and boots etc. The handy zip open compartment is tall enough to stand bottles up in or zip away items that you need to keep extra safe.

Whilst we are on the subject of storage, one of our favourite features of the Modhero was the elasticated pouches on the back of the seat unit. They were great for keeping bottles and sippy cups at hand and even hats and gloves on colder days.

Carrycot

The Modhero is designed as an all-in-one system. When baby is newborn you can use the long and spacious carrycot to keep them comfortable whilst out and about. The carrycot comes flat packed and was very easy to pop into place. It is lined in a gorgeously soft and sumptuously squidgy material which can also be unzipped and washed if it becomes a little mucky - always handy with a small baby! The carrycot clicks on and off the frame with ease, by pressing in the two buttons on either side of the carrycot connectors.

Seat

When baby has outgrown the carrycot (although it is so roomy this is unlikely to be until they are able to sit up and wriggle about all by themselves!) they can move onto the just as roomy seat unit. The stylish black seat has modern and funky designs printed onto the seat back but can also be used with the footmuff as a convertible liner - which our toddler tester found oh-so comfortable!

Suitable from newborn all the way up to 15kg the seat can change from parent to world facing by pressing the two buttons on the side of the chassis – this was a super easy process which we performed several times whilst testing out the Modhero!

The adjustable footrest on the seat unit meant that toddler and baby can sleep soundly. When our toddler tester was awake, we popped the footrest down so he was in a comfortable sitting position. It's great that the Modhero offers so many options!

The harness buckle is slightly smaller than what we are used to, but all the same it was easy to fasten and adjust using the sliding adjusters on the harness webbing.

Reclining the Modhero is so simple and easy to do. Just by squeezing the lever at the top of the seat unit, you can change the seat from a sitting to a lying position in a jiffy. The motion is smooth so you don't need to worry about waking a sleeping baby when you are doing it - great!

The seat unit features a fully pivoting and rotating bumper bar. Our little tester loved having the bumper bar to hold onto whilst watching the world go by.

The hood on the Modhero is perfect for covering every eventuality of weather! The large extendable hood pulls down to provide plenty of shelter from wind or rain. The peek-a-boo window meant we could have a sneaky peek of what our toddler tester was up to and we knew exactly when it was time to recline the seat back for a nap. We tested the Java design of the Modhero and most of the monochrome themed pattern is on the hood. Lots of mummies on the school run complimented us on the fab design!

Fold

The fold on the Modhero is simply fab! You do have to remove the seat unit, carrycot or car seat that you are using, but this takes seconds and the compact fold you are left with is astounding.

We loved the way that there was no need to bend down and although you need two hands to click the handlebar in, the rest can be done one handed. To unfold, just reverse the process and pop your seat unit, car seat or carrycot back onto the frame - so simple and so easy!

Carseat

The Modhero comes complete with the Upstart infant car seat in the same gorgeous colourway as your pushchair seat and carrycot. Although this car seat isn't i-Size certified, you can buy an additional ISOfix base to make clicking your car seat from chassis to car even easier. Koochi provide the Upstart car seat adapters in the box with the Modhero as well as the footmuff for the seat unit and the harness pads for the seat unit too. This means you have everything covered right from the word go and don't need to worry about your car seat being compatible with the pushchair that you choose. The car seat was lined in the same gorgeous material as the carrycot liner and the newborn inserts were gorgeously soft on baby's delicate skin.

Conclusion

Koochi have provided parents with an all-in-one, go anywhere, do anything pushchair in the form of the Modhero.

The compact, foot operated fold will be a crowd pleaser for many busy families. The freestanding compact fold is great for families who are short on space or need to pack their pushchair into their car boot for most of the time.

Getting the complete package of the car seat, carrycot and seat unit including footmuff, all in one tidy box gives parents real value for money and certainly eases the financial strain of preparing for a new baby to enter the family!

If you are hunting for a modern styled but slightly funky all in one pushchair, that can cope with almost any eventuality, then the Modhero is definitely for you.
